Copyright laws

When you write music, you immediately have copyrights because it is your own work but you are in control of those copyrights' laws. The copyrights last until the artist of the music pass away and with an additional 70 years added on. Also, copyrights ahve to be renewed by 1923-1977Having copyrights to music or lyrics really means that your having protection over your personal writing(s) and that other people may not sell off or record, ect. the music or lyrics depending on what choosen law was written. The current year for public domain music in the US is 1922 or earlier. The proof of public domain is the proof of music, lyrics, ect. being available to be copied or copyrighten. You may only copyright 18% of the music or lyrics when copyrighting.

Bright Tunes Music Corp. said that George Harrison plagiarized the song they had written, but he was found not guilty by the judge.
